Melanie Craig Brown

After serving in the United States Army as a musician for 21 years, we came back to Grand Forks to raise our children. I finally graduated from UND in December 2007 and am now the band director in Fisher, MN. Who knew teaching was such hard work! Our kids enjoy ND and keep us busy with sports, piano and church. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone in July.

My most fun and memorable times in school seemed to be anything that was non-academic. The teachers who most influenced me were in the music department. I remember going to Indianapolis on a band trip and being told not to leave the hotel after dark because it was a bad neighborhood. Pretty scary stuff for a Grand Forks kid! All my sporting friend and events remain special to me-especially the basketball team.
