Geraldine "Geri" Nikle, age 52, of Grand Forks, ND, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. 

Geraldine Nikle was born on January 20, 1961 in Grand Forks, ND, the daughter of Victor and Carol (Hoeger) Matson. Geraldine attended school at Red River High School and graduated with the Class of 1979. She went on to further her education at the Northwest Tech in East Grand Forks where she was enrolled in the CNA Program. Geraldine worked at the Good Samaritan Center in East Grand Forks and Valley Memorial Homes in Grand Forks. She was also a manager for McDonald's Corporation in Grand Forks and most recently was employed with Development Home Inc. of Grand Forks.

Geraldine was a talented seamstress and enjoyed needle point, cross stitch and crocheting. She made baby blankets for each of her nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Geraldine put other people before her and her heart into all her work. 

Family members of Geraldine include her husband, Brian, of Grand Forks, ND; children, Cassie (Phillip) LaBine of Grand Forks, ND, Brandon Nikle of Grand Forks, ND and Lindsey (Brandon) Hughes of Grenada, MS; sisters, Kim (Larry) Houle of Richfield, MN and Kristy (Joel) Sandy of Minot, ND mother, Carol Matson of Grand Forks, ND; 5 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 

Geraldine is preceded in death by her father and brother, Victor William Matson.
